Mickey Mouse...*sigh*...Disco

Yeah, everyone was doing it... What would Walt have thought of this, I wonder. Or, thinking of more recent news, what would he think of Disney acquiring Lucasfilm? Boy, was George hard up for cash or something? I personally don't get it and think it has the potential to be nothing but bad, but who knows?
You can see what songs they were influenced by in that tracklisting. I haven't listened to it yet, but I can imagine what it would sound like regardless. :p

Want to hear "Macho Duck"? (no, you don't) Then go here. (you really don't want to)

An ad for the album was posted to YouTube yesterday. Check it out!

Anything you can do...

...Ralph Carmichael must do better!

See, it's because there was a long-running, famous series of easy listening albums called 101 Strings...

A man of the cloth seeking glory for himself by duping the masses into thinking this was another 101 Strings-type album? Perish the thought! :p (I'm just joking around, of course)

Here's the man himself, perhaps preparing 103 Strings...

Songs for Children

Here's a simple post I made a long time ago, but apparently only saved as a draft. *shrug*

Typical collection of nursery rhymes with a nice cover. I'm sure many of us had albums like this. I also had a very thick 16 RPM of "Old King Cole." Used to play it on a player that did 16, 33, 45 and 72. Fun listening to it at crazy speeds. There was a short in it which gave me a little shock nearly every time I touched it.

Obligatory whipped cream

A must for every vinyl collection!

Apparently, model Dolores Erickson (each name goes to a different interview with her) was three months pregnant in this picture, not that anyone would know.

The back cover just features this picture of the band and the usual text and shilling, so let's have some more Dolores, OK? ;)

Very interesting! Well, somewhat interesting, especially towards the end. I dunno who originally scanned this and whatnot, so thanks to Esquire!

You've got something in your hair, miss.

K-tel's Chipmunk Mania!

Killing Exploiting two birds phenomena with one stone album!

I didn't even notice this was a K-tel album until I was cropping the picture. That makes it even cooler! :)

Hey, they forgot to color in Alvin's shoes! Shame, shame, K-tel...

Nice collection of Beatles favorites, sped up for your listening pleasure. ;)

Very superimpositious

Decent cover. Nice and simple. I think those sparkles are going supernova! :p

Oh man, this is just priceless! And hey, they replicated the modern, unnatural filtered look that everyone is so gung-ho about. Heh. The woman on the right, especially in this picture, reminds me of someone I know. Mwahahahaaaa.

They're still around, singing up a storm. Check 'em out here.

The Allan Sisters are just...wow!

I saw this cover, featuring these two extremely lovely ladies, and figured it was religious. But no! They just look angelic because they can. Pure class. Wow!
Seriously, wow!
North Pole? Wow! :p

More info on them here.

Ray and Bobby...and Chuck

Neat-o cover by the inimitable Ray Stevens. :) He is best known for the song "The Streak." Watch it here! Or maybe he is best known for "Everything is Beautiful"? (watch here) Or maybe "Guitarzan"? (here)

I dig the back cover too. But hey, what's this? Who is that on the left? :D
Hey, it's Bill Byrge! He would be known to most people as Bobby from the Ernest P. Worrell movies! He and Gailard Sartain (as Chuck) made a great team. :)
Sorry to hijack your moment here, Ray, but these guys are just awesome. ;)
